No New Posts GOLDEN GAI

This small area within Ikebukuro is famous in regards to architectural interests and nightlife. It is composed of a network of six narrow alleys, connected by even narrower passageways which are just about wide enough for a single person to pass through. Over 200 tiny shanty-style bars, clubs and eateries are squeezed into this minimal area and for what it lacks in leg-room are definitely made up for in entertainment value.

No New Posts TAKEDANOBABA

The close proximity to a number of universities, vocational colleges, and prepatory schools make the consumers of this little-known karaoke bar primarily students. Takedanobaba, or just 'Baba' to the youthful patrons, offers a calm atmosphere for parties interested in having a decent time, but also relieving a little stress. Food can be ordered to the small but stylish rooms actually located in what's technically the basement of the establishment.

No New Posts GEMU! BARCADE

Just as it sounds, this is an arcade with a bar. The building is low-lit with neon lights throughout for optimum gaming setting. There’s a variety of old-school and newer games that line the walls and make up isles for people to walk through and game at. Kids and teenagers are allowed inside as long as they don't sit at the bar during daytime hours, but at night it gets a bit wild with all the drunken gaming. Regardless, it's fun for all ages, sober or not.

No New Posts LOVELY PASTRY

An oddly small and cute building among the skyscrapers and businesses of Tokyo, Lovely Pastry is a maid and internet café. The waitresses here dress as maids and call their customers 'Goshujin-sama,' which means master. There’re also a few male waiters here who dress like butlers for women. It’s extremely popular among the male community, but girls and children also show up to see the costumes and be treated special for a day. They sell the normal cafe favorites - tea, smoothies, cakes etc. – at an elevated price.

No New Posts TSUKIJI RAMEN-YA

Tsukiji Ramen-ya is marked by its run-down shack looking appearance and half curtains that cover the opening to the small restaurant. Primarily Tsukiji serves ramen of many different varieties (not just broths, but noodle types as well) along with some sushi and also alcoholic drinks (they’re sometimes mistaken for an izakaya because of that). The inside of the building looks much nicer than the outside with three tables in the body of the shop beyond the main counter which offers five stools to sit at.

No New Posts CASTLE NOVA

Although it appears built for a ten-year-old princess, Castle Nova is far from being child-friendly. No windows and the discreet entrance, this particular hotel only caters to couples hoping to find some privacy in the bustling city. From a panel outside it's a regular choose-your-own-adventure on the listing of available rooms that vary in appearance--some typical bedroom-esque, others following such themes as underwater, Hello Kitty, outer-space and so on. Every room comes fully equipped for the deed, and are surprisingly affordable unless you choose to stay overnight.
